A typical program asks people to separate their recyclables from their trash before placing them at the curb for collection." the recycling of plastics is broken up into 7 categories(the seventh is all plastics other than the first specific 6 plastics). plastic can be reformed to many other useful things.

The article also states that you become a better patriot when recycling because then we don't need to get more of our fossil fuels from other nations.

It is also important to recycle to preserve our precious raw materials. when we recycle we get to reuse raw materials so that we don need to keep using up new raw materials.
